Grúpa Spraoi Londan (The London Irish-language Playgroup), is a stay-and-play for pre-schoolers and parents. They usually meet on the last Saturday of the month from 1-3pm in the Kennedy Hall (entrance via Murray Mews) to share the Irish language by singing children's songs, taking turns reading storybooks, and using the Irish we have during free play and a cup of tea.

Song-sheets and toys are provided and the Irish Community Library next door has a wide selection of children's books in Irish which are also available for families to loan.

They have a guest trad-musician most months for dancing and musical games, and the Cultúr Club class for school-age children takes place from 1-2pm next door in the Library, so families with siblings of different ages can attend both the Grúpa Spraoi and Cultúr Club.

If you would like to find out more, get in touch with the organiser, local Families' Officer for Conradh na Gaeilge, James McDonald on [email protected] and you can sign up to the family newsletter here:

There is also a Grúpa Spraoi Londan Facebook Group ( which you are welcome to join to connect with other parents who want their children to have a knowledge and appreciation for the Irish language.
