A new Irish language class for children

Suitable for primary school children, this trial term of just three classes is expected to lead to a more frequent ongoing class later this year.

Na Ranganna

The Cultúr Club is a play-based fun introduction to the Irish language with a maximum of ten children, held in the London Irish Libary.

The club is ideal for children who are quite new to the Irish language but have a keen interest in learning it.

We use resources specially designed by Conradh na Gaeilge 'Cultúr Club' programme for children learning Irish in the diaspora!

Classes

Class 1 - Saturday 30th of March 1-2pm

Class 2 - Saturday 4th of May 1-2pm

Class 3 - Saturday the 1st of June 1-2pm *NB: This date has changed from the previous week to avoid the bank holiday*

An Múinteoir

Cultúr Club will be taught by Gráinne Ní Bhrosnacháin who is a native Irish speaker from the Gaeltacht of Corca Dhuibhne in County Kerry. She has a lot of experience with children of different ages and currently works at a London nursery with babies and young children. She has previous experience teaching English in Asia and is currently very involved in the Irish Community in London and plays football and camogie with the Father Murphy's Ladies team. You can hear more about her and her travels in this Radio na Gaeltachta interview: https://gb.ivoox.com/en/an-saol-o-dheas-grainne-ni-bhrosnachain-audios-mp3_rf_13025211_1.html

Fan Linn

The classes will take place at the same time as the monthly Grúpa Spraoi Londan play group (1-3pm) in the adjoining Kennedy Hall of the London Irish Centre

Parents with other younger children are welcome to join in the activities or to stay with their children in the library or can just enjoy a tea or a coffee in the Kennedy hall.

However, we do ask that at least one parent remain on site.

An Costas

The term of three classes costs £25 per child, but contact us if you would like to enquire about a more affordable option or if you have any other questions about the club or whether it would be suitable for your child.
