Dermot O'Leary to be Patron of The London Irish Centre
'It's a big honour for me to become a patron of the London Irish Centre...'
We are delighted to announce that Dermot has agreed to become our patron (designate).
'It's a big honour for me to become a patron of the LIC. I'm very proud of my Irish heritage, my parents were part of the post war generation of immigrants who came to London to find a new life, so the London Irish community is one that is very close to my heart.
I'm looking forward to helping LIC both promote Irish culture and to help them with their equally important role of helping the vulnerable in the local community'.
From The London Irish Centre:
‘We are absolutely delighted that Dermot has agreed to be patron designate of the London Irish Centre, to be ratified at our next AGM. He will work with us in our role of promoting the very best in Irish arts and culture and ensuring that those Irish in London who need help are supported and able to access the services they need and deserve.
We are currently carrying out an extensive community consultation as a precursor to embarking on an exciting new strategic plan in 2016 to substantially increase the charitable impact we have on our community. We very much look forward to working with Dermot as we expand and develop our services in ways that will address the needs of the community we serve’.
