September Concerts at LIC
This September, we are welcomeing three of Ireland’s great musical talents to their venue for a series of concerts in the heart of Camden Town.
World renowned accordionist and singer Seamus Begley returns to London on September 11th for a launch party and concert at the Centre to celebrate the release of his “stunning” and “ground-breaking” new album The Bold Kerryman. Together with Guitarist Tim Edey and special guests he will perform cuts from the new album together with old favourites.
On Saturday September 12th the Centre welcomes one of Cork’s greatest musical exports, the internationally renowned singer-songwriter Mick Flannery. A Meteor Awards winner and Irish album chart-topper, Mick is known for his soulful singing style and insightful lyrics. A chance to see him in this intimate setting is not to be missed.
Finally, the magnificent John Doyle will be at the Centre on Wednesday September 16th. John Doyle is not only a fine singer but more importantly, an imaginative and original songwriter who really grabs audiences with his ability to tell a story through song. Coupled with his high standing as one of the best acoustic guitarists around, this makes for a memorable evening's music.
“No one in Irish traditional music is a better guitarist than him right now. …What are they putting in the potable water in County Sligo..that has made him so mind-vaultingly good?’ Earle Hitchner, WSJ
