Children's Books Ireland presents the Book Clinic
Date: July 23, 2017
Venue: London Irish Centre
'Are you a young reader? Looking for a new series to delve into? Feeling uninspired by your bookshelves at home? Do you need a prescription for an exciting new read? Then pop along to the CBI Book Clinic!
Throughout the year CBI brings the Book Clinic across Ireland, working with many different partners. This year we are coming to London!
Parents and children are invited to drop in for an informal consultation with one of Children’s Books Ireland’s friendly panel of Book Doctors, who are ready to offer the best advice for the young readers in your family.
The visit begins with a few moments in the waiting room where Doodle Starters are available and a friendly Book Clinic Assistant will check you in. When the Book Doctor is ready to see a patient, the consultation begins with some questions about books the young reader previously enjoyed as well as activities, movies, TV shows and video games they enjoy. This lets the Book Doctor know a little bit more about the patient so she can write a book prescription, which is a personalised list of books recommended for the individual patient.
Every patient and their family leave with a Reading Passport containing this book prescription to take to the to their local library or bookshop to have it filled!
Remember, the CBI Book Clinic is always free of charge!
